Je ne savais pas.
Il faut donc se méfier des apparences.
Tu vois ce que je veux dire.

Re: La consanguinité
Great text, in order to produce a good 'line' of dogs firstly one must have the perfect example of the breed in his mind's eye, whilst working within the standard one must have his/her ideal 'en tete' and never sway from this ideal. The best way is to buy the best female that you can afford, as near to the/your standard as possible, then eventually go about looking for a stud along similar lines, a stud that complements your bitch, free from exaggerations, and with a pedigree to match, from here with the advice of many 'experienced breeders' (by this i mean real long term breeders of repute who have produced real quality animals, not to be confused with the 'online specialists that we tend to see more and more today on the various forums) from here if successful we can begin our selection. Normally within the porteé of say 5 , a couple will resemble the mother, a couple the father with maybe one inbetween, personally i would choose a female to continue my work/line at a later date again as free from exaggeration as possible, small compact, check the ear carrage, the bite make your choice and let nature do the rest. Here at Knightwood Oak one of my favourite 'marriages' is father/ daughter thus cementing the 'type' i'm looking for, once i am happy with a nice 'tight' pedigree then my options are open, outcross, linebreed or so on. The subject of la-consanguinite often frightens people but it is a subject vast and intensly interesting, to work within natures rules to produce always subjects superior in quality than in previous generations, it is not a subject to be taken lightly yet it is something the 'serious' breeder must embrace and study at length, sadly here in France there are very few kennels with the understanding or experience to take on this task
