Death survey - A couple of minutes of your time please
Please can all who have lost dogs take a couple of minutes out to fill in the survey that can be found via the link below.
Archie Bryden has written a small bit to explain why we could use this information. The response so far has been absymal so please Stafford people, can you help out?

Perhaps the best reason for attempting this survey came on New Year’s Day. In the Daily Mail there was a piece by Jemima Harrison about the Beckhams buying a Bulldog. While she was even slightly complimentary about the Kennel Club, she stated that Bulldogs only lived for about six years. She probably got this figure from the KC health survey which gave the average age at death as a bit over six years. However the KC survey was really a rather poor piece of work in many respects and as far as we in Staffords are concerned, we do not want to be unprepared should any allegations of this nature be levelled against us. The average life span for SBTs was given as about 12yrs which is what might be expected but we need better figures and information at our fingertips. We need to confirm the findings of the KC survey with a larger sample, preferably about 500 dogs. This may allow us to find out more about dogs dying prematurely, perhaps under 10yo, in case there are any specific conditions involved. Research of this nature, as is most research, is tedious and even boring, but it is a necessary part of building up the health profile of the Stafford. Many probably intend to give the details of their dogs that have passed away but keep saying they will do it tomorrow – we all do it! But tomorrow never comes! What we need is everyone to download and complete the questionnaire without delay and send to Linda Payton or send paper returns to Maureen Ward. Failure to do so means you are letting the Stafford down.
Death survey information can be found in the below link.
